Meal preparation and batch cooking are fantastic ways to be prepared for the week ahead. Most people like to cook larger quantities of proteins and veggies on Sunday to inspire them to eat healthy as the week goes on. A few items to think about as you meal prep and batch cook...

  1. Think of foods that are easy and safe to reheat or eat cold. There are some foods that do not reheat well.

  2. If you won't eat the meal the next day, then put it in a glass container in the freezer. As foods sit in the fridge, they build up histamine, which has a negative impact on your gut. If you pop them in the freezer, then take them out the next morning to put in your cooler or fridge, you decrease the amount of accumulated histamine.

  3. Always eating cold foods is not the best for your body. The balance of cold and hot foods should exist.

  4. Always eating the same foods seems easiest, but the gut needs a variety of foods to help keep it on its toes and provide different nutrients, vitamins, and minerals.

Think about what you're prepping beforehand and try to find the right balance for you.
